Andongsari Village in Jember Regency established the Lestari Mandiri Biological Agents Service Center (PPAH) to reduce farmers' dependence on synthetic chemicals. However, the PPAH has not run optimally due to the short shelf life and low effectiveness of its products, which are caused by a lack of quality control.
To overcome this issue, this program aims to revitalize the PPAH by optimizing existing products and adding new biological agents, such as Entomopathogenic Nematodes, Metarhizium anisopliae, Trichogramma sp, and liquid smoke pesticides. The implementation includes field observations, laboratory-standard mass propagation training, and 12 sessions of Integrated Pest Control Field Schools (SLPHT) focused on large red chili plantations.
The primary goals are to help farmers become independent, produce Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for biological agent propagation, publish the findings in an accredited national journal, and obtain Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
